The Northern Men's Convention 2011 will be taking place on Saturday 7th May at The Armitage Centre in Manchester. The theme is 'Sex, Marriage, Singleness'. The main speaker is Rupert Bentley-Taylor (Minister of Widdecombe Baptish Church, Bath)
As well as the main talks, there are a number of seminars to choose from, which include:
PORN FREE - Paul Baxendale Pornography is a huge problem in today's world and many Christian men find themselves enslaved in it. In this seminar we'll look at what the Bible says about pornography and the hope God's word holds out to those struggling with porn - how by God's grace it is possible for us to live porn free.
GOOD SEX - JustIn Mote Sex is God's idea. It was part of His creation for married couples. In a culture that sees sex as a 'recreational activity' what should be our expectations of sex within marriage? How can it be good? This seminar will help those who are married and those who hope to be married to rejoice at sex being God's good gift to marriage.
"SAME-SEX ATTRACTION: CLARITY AND COMPASSION" With Jonathan Berry of True Freedom Trust exploring how we handle this key area where the criticism of homophobia is so often levelled at us.
HEADSHIP@HOME - Paul Kinnaird In a day when some have concluded that Fathers are unnecessary – even unhelpful! We want to see how important that we get the spiritual lead in the family right. Men behaving badly here will impact and influence many areas of life, that being the case, we want to equip one another in this vital role.
